OUTAGE: groups.geni.net on 2011-01-17 from 20:00 - 23:00 -0500

There will be an outage at the site where groups.geni.net is hosted, on 2011-01-17 from 20:00 - 23:00 -0500 (US/Eastern), affecting all sites on groups.geni.net.

The folks at CSAIL say:

There will be a major CSAIL network outage between 8 PM and 11 PM on 
Monday, January 17 (Martin Luther King Day).  During this time, we 
will be upgrading the software on all of our network core and 
machine-room access switches, and making other configuration changes 
necessary to fully recover from Wednesday's failure. 
 
Due to the sequencing required to make this change successfully, only 
one switch will be down at any point.  However, one of the switches 
that needs to be updated is our border router, which sits between 
CSAILnet and MITnet.  While this switch is being updated, all 
connectivity to campus and to the Internet at large will be 
interrupted. 
 
I expect each individual outage will require between five and fifteen 
minutes. 

So, the site should be up at times during the outage window, but may be down intermittently.
