Scope
The scope of work on this project is to extend the OMF (cOntrol and Management Framework) to design and implement a prototype of a GENI-compliant resource management, experiment control, and measurement framework, so that it can support experiments across heterogeneous testbed resources, with a specific focus on mobile testbeds. GENI control framework functions will be added to the OMF as they become defined. Support for mobile testbeds will include the handling of disconnection, and providing temporal and spatial control. Reference implementations of your GENI-compliant resource management, experiment control, and measurement framework will be provided to another wireless project, and its testbed will be integrated into your OMF environment as a federated testbed. Both testbeds will be connected to a GENI backbone network.

Spiral 1 Connectivity
Location of equipment:
Lab at WINLAB / Rutgers University, North Brunswick, NJ
Lab at NICTA, Alexandria, NSW, Australia
Clearinghouse will be located in WINLAB.
Layer 3 connectivity
WINLAB has existing IP connectivity and public addresses that will also be used for GENI. NICTA layer 3 connectivity is TBD.
Layer 2 connectivity
WINLAB will connect layer 2 to MAGPI East in Philadelphia. Additional fiber infrastructure is needed; one piece has been acquired, one is in place, and a third is planned for completion June 30. Rutgers has an existing connecton to MAGPI East in Philadelphia. Connection to NLR or Internet2 TBD.
(Status on April 1: The missing fiber link between the Rutgers Food Science building and the Route 1 fiber corridor (~1 mile) will be provisioned by June 30. We will be creating a 1 Gig lambda for WINLAB in July to our current location at 401 Broad Street in Philadelphia on the 9th floor. From what we've heard to date, GENI is not using the 10Gig Wave, but is using the general Internet2 network; thus, we should be able to hand off directly to MAGPI in our current location. In the meantime, we are ready to test L2 connectivity using a VPN over the excess capacity of 400Mbps on Rutgers University's existing commodity feed to L2, if another testbed is available for connection.)
NICTA plans connection via Australian Advanced Research Network to a PoP in Seattle, with possible connectivity to Internet2 and NLR. Possible DCN for GENI virtual ethernet connection. Details TBD.
