ExoGENI Acceptance Tests Open Topics

Open Topics: 2013-02-27

"Expected Dates" on this page are dates when GPO expects to have all necessary info and correct config/sw on racks to run the test. The test may take longer to run and conclude successfully, depending on the test.

Experimenter Tests

Overall for Experimenter tests: ---> Expected Date: 2012-02-28
Waiting on installation for AM API fix in all racks, to re-run experimenter acceptance tests.

EG-EXP-3: ExoGENI Single Site 100 VM Test ==> Expected Date: Soon after GEC16
Need to rerun when hybrid mode is available.

Administrative Tests

EG-ADM-2: Rack Administrator Access Test ---> Expected Date: 2013-03-11 (proposed)
There are concerns about the current ExoGENI Control Network, and following are requests to address our concerns:

  1. We think site admins will find it surprising and possibly alarming that part of their network (vlan 1006) is being bridged to control networks at other sites. It should be documented clearly for site admins that this is the case.
  1. We think the IMMs at each site should have per-site nontrivial passwords (the ones at BBN are still trivial for example), so that accidental tampering with other sites' nodes is less likely.
  1. We think site admins shouldn't be able to login to other sites' head nodes. This is a bit of extra protection against accidents which we think should be easy to implement.

EG-ADM-4: Emergency Stop Test ---> Expected Date: March 6 (March 7 alternate)
An Emergency Stop Procedure detailed test outline is being defined. The preparation steps are currently being executed and coordination is taking place with ES teams. Working on reviewing the document that ExoGENI provided, and will send them feedback today. Trying to schedule EG-ADM-4 with the ExoGENI team for March 6th, with the 7th as an alternate or a retest date. These dates should work for Eldar and the GMOC. There are no blocking issues at this time.

EG-ADM-7: Documentation Review Test ---> Expected Date: ???
Email with prioritized documentation list was sent to the exogeni-design list on Feb 26th. We would like to see some progress on the high priority items, need estimates for these items. GPO is sending tickets for priority documentation requests, and RENCI plans to respond to those tickets by 3/1. After we get responses, we can enter an Expected Date field for this test.

Monitoring Tests

EG-MON-3: GENI Active Experiment Inspection Test ---> Expected Date: Feb 27st - Mar 8th prep, Mar 11th - 15th execution.
GPO staff currently learning the Pequod interface, ramp up time is only issue.

EG-MON-5: GMOC Data Collection Test ---> Expected Date: ???
Test is hindered by a GMOC bug, but workaround is available and being used. More work to be done by the ExoGENI, as discussed in Monitoring Call discussions. May need Victor and/or Jonathan's time to finish.
