1) GEMINI Goals

9:00am

Spiral 5:

Introduce and deploy new architecture;
provide useful tools at each GEC

v1.1/GEC15:

Introduce new architecture with passive measurements;
follow basic test/tutorial/experiment workflow;
who is responsible on GEMINI team for flow of tutorial?

v2beta/GEC16:

Extend new architecture to include basic active measurements;
extend analysis, presentation, storage and archiving of measurements

v2.0/GEC17:

Add full set of active measurements;
follow infrastructure measurement workflow, including sharing data with others;
include ability to retrieve data from storage for further analysis and presentation

Spiral 6:

Add functions, features and refinements, based on user feedback;
integrate with other GENI tools (e.g., GENI CH Portal)

Target either ProtoGENI clusters and InstaGENI racks
However, since InstaGENI racks are still unstable, GEC15 tutorial will target only ProtoGENI clusters, preferably Univ Kentucky.

v2beta/GEC16:

Target either ProtoGENI clusters and InstaGENI racks
GEC16 tutorial should target InstaGENI racks, preferably slices spanning multiple racks

v2.0/GEC17:

Add target of ExoGENI racks, for slices spanning multiple racks
However, a slice does NOT need to span both types of racks

10) Extending GEMINI Measurement Analysis, Presentation, Storage and Archive Functions in Spiral 5

Flexible analysis and presentation of measurements.

Push/pull to/from storage service, based on iRODS

Include descriptors, following GENI schema

Retrieve measurements from storage service, for further analysis and presentation

Define object, and move to archive service; share with others per attached policy
