Description

We'll bring a demo of a federated experiment across 2-3 testbed facilities controlled by SEER expt control software.

We'll need a) wired net access with good peak rate (our use will be limited overall, but bursty); b) 2-3 routed static IP addresses if possible (if your only static addresses are private/NATted we can probably deal, please let us know); c) AC power for 2 laptops and one largish monitor or projector; and d) space for: two posters, a large flat-panel monitor or small plasma display (or possibly a projector and white surface instead), a couple of laptops, and some handouts.

Thanks! john

I'll follow up on this with the site contacts and get back to you on addresses.

There's a shortage of routed IP addresses. What's your minimum for the demo, 1 or 2? You should assume they will be NATed, although I haven't gotten the final word on that from hotel IT yet.

Projectors will be rented and fairly expensive, so if you have a portable projector you can bring, please let me know.

Hi, Heidi.

I think we'll be able to do our demo with one NATted address. I'm looking into getting our division's projector for the demo, and I don't expect a problem there. I'll confirm here when we have it.

Can you give me an idea how much physical space there will be? We're hoping for enough room for a projection for the demo and two posters. Any chance you guys will be able to supply a couple easel for us? And I'm assuming there will be a table or someplace to sit. Is that the case?

We will be able to bring a projector.

The tables are 6 feet. You can have a half or a whole table. The posters can hang on the front of the tables or stand up on the tables, but there isn't really room for standing easels next to the tables. If you want posters on the table, I assume you'll need a whole table. Please confirm. We should have two NATed addresses if it turns out you need more than one.

Sorry, I missed this reply and have been in my usual mess of chaos.

A whole table would be great and we appreciate the addresses. Will you guys have any kind of backing for the posters or should we plan to bring our own?

Sorry for the gap.

There are poster panels in the middle of the room that may be visible from your demo table as well (see ticket 36), and those wouldn't require backing. I will have some foam core board available in case you want to use it to build a tabletop or other creative display.

The cork board will be awesome, thanks.

Do we need to bring a screen to porject on, or will the walls be suitable or screens available?

comment:9 Changed 16 years ago by hdempsey@bbn.com

There will be screens available.
