Description
A Brocade upgrade is taking place in the AL2S network which impact the AL2S advertisement and the stitching for 3 InstaGENI racks (Stanford, Missouri, University of Chicago).
It is expected that from the rack's perspective the remoteLinkId will change after the upgrade. The racks are connected to the following AL2S switches:
- Stanford => Sunnyvale
- Missouri => Kansas
- University of Chicago => StartLight
Note: The Kansas and StarLight switches have already been updated. The Sunnyvale switches should be updated Monday morning (09/08/14).
To Do:
- Get Advertisement from AL2S aggregate
- Get Utah Folks to update the IG racks stitching configuration
- Get Xi to update SCS stitching to capture new advertisements.
- Test Stitching scenarios currently used for AL2S testing.

Changes have now appeared in stitching advertisement. Basically “ex/y” changes to “ethx/y” for each port on a Brocade node that gets upgraded.
Here is the excerpt for Kansas and StsrLight switches stitching advertisement.

Sent Email to Utah folks:
Hello, A switch upgrade AL2S has impacted their stitching advertisement. Currently there are 3 InstaGENI sites that are connected to AL2S: Stanford, Missouri and University of Chicago. The stitching advertisement for these 3 racks needs updating, basically the advertisement changes the "ex/y" ethx/y. New advertisement for AL2S Kansas switch which impacts Missouri: <stitch:link id="urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.kans.net.internet2.edu:eth5/1:*"> <stitch:remoteLinkId>urn:publicid:IDN+instageni.rnet.missouri.edu+interface+procurve2:1.19.al2s.kans.e5_1</stitch:remoteLinkId> New advertisement for AL2S StarLight which impact University of Chicago: <stitch:link id="urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.star.net.internet2.edu:eth7/1:*"> <stitch:remoteLinkId> urn:publicid:IDN+geni.uchicago.edu+interface+procurve2:1.16.al2s </stitch:remoteLinkId> 1. TO BE CHANGED at Chicago IG: <remoteLinkId>urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.star.net.internet2.edu:e7/1:uchicago-ig</remoteLinkId> to the following: <remoteLinkId>urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.star.net.internet2.edu:eth7/1:uchicago-ig</remoteLinkId> 2. TO BE CHANGED at Missouri IG: <remoteLinkId>urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.kans.net.internet2.edu:e5/1:*</remoteLinkId> to the following: <remoteLinkId>urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.kans.net.internet2.edu:eth5/1:*</remoteLinkId> Thank you, Luisa

Status Update:
The StarLight switch/University of Chicago rack changes due to the brocade upgrade have been validates. Both rack and AL2S now have consistent stitching advertisement. A stitching path from University of Chicago to GPO IG was successfully used.
The Kansas switch/Missouri IG rack cannot be validated until an IG fix is deployed tomorrow.
The Sunnyvale switch(Stanford IG) upgrade has not taken place yet.

The aggregates advertisement in AL2S is now correct:
<stitch:link id="urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.sunn.net.internet2.edu:eth5/1:stanford-ig"> <stitch:remoteLinkId>urn:publicid:IDN+instageni.stanford.edu+interface+procurve2:1.24.al2s</stitch:remoteLinkId> <stitch:link id="urn:publicid:IDN+al2s.internet2.edu+interface+sdn-sw.colu4.net.internet2.edu:eth1/2:missouri-ig"> <stitch:remoteLinkId>urn:publicid:IDN+instageni.rnet.missouri.edu+interface+procurve2:1.19.al2s</stitch:remoteLinkId>
Closing ticket.
Proceeded to capture the AL2S advertisement, but found that the AL2S stitching details for the first two switches StartLight(University of Chicago) and Kansas (Missouri) no longer include any detail for the switch. All "capacity", "link", "VLAN" information is gone from stitching advertisement !!!
Here are the current advertisement details for the two switches:
