Please see this message sent by Heidi at the end of April. We are going to need a lot more information about this demo before we devote resources to it. Please provide the needed information ASAP.

Apologies, there was some confusion are on end as to whether or not this demo was going to be given.

The previous comment still stands, as we have not allocated any resources for this demo at all yet.

We intend to demonstrate the power/necessity of QoS in our video streaming architecture. The required QoS can be enforced with the aid of SDN and openflow switches in a efficient manner. Our demonstration will consist of a video stream from a source such as a camera in a lecture room. This video stream will duplicated into two streams, both of which follow identical paths along the network along with the presence of various other traffic present. On one path, QoS will be deployed whereas on another path, the default service will be maintained and the difference will be observed!

That all sounds good. Will you be bringing a laptop ( or several? ), will you need a LCD screen to present on, any special network considerations ( L2 VLAN, static IPs? ) or just a simple wire connected to the commodity internet? Will you have a poster?

comment:6 Changed 10 years ago by aprakash6@wisc.edu

We will have 3 laptops with us.

We will need 2 LCD displays, 3 static IPs, poster stand, several power chord slots, and a L2 VLAN to the rack. I will add anything later on if our requirements change. Thanks!

Do you know the VLAN ID? I don't think it will be a problem to pipe the VLAN to your table.

We can now confirm that the resources you requested will be available for you on Demo Night. See you in Davis!

The VLAN ID he needs is 3503.
