Description
After discussions with the GPO Experiment support group, a feature request came up to allow GIMI to be installed in a postboot script to enable experimenters to setup instrumentation after the reservation is done as well.
The document here contains some preliminary discussion of the steps required to move the current setup (precreated image) to a postboot script (if this is necessary) and some discussion points on the associated advantages and disadvantages.
In addition there is a simple postboot script that successfully installed and started OMF/OML on the standard emulab Ubuntu 12.04 image. If we decide to move the installation to postboot, this script will require considerable improvement, especially for error handling.
