Scope

1. Lead the integration of the Princeton control framework onto the GpENI testbed.

2. Enable backbone connection (Internet2/NLR) supporting end-to-end VLAN connections into the GpENI testbed.

3. Make GpENI infrastructure running Princeton control framework available to external researchers over VLAN connections by the end of year 1.

4. Present GpENI integration and operational status to the various control frameworks selected in Spiral 1 through active participation in GEC meetings and the appropriate working groups

GpENI web portal:  https://geni-planetlab-5.ksu.gpeni.net/ (Contact PI for account to use portal to create slices across GpENI PlanetLab and VINI nodes.)

Spiral 1 Connectivity

The GpENI network is formed from the Great Plains Network which has equipment co-located at an Internet2 POP in Kansas City, MO. The connections between the DWDM equipment, the availability of the 10GBE switch and the connections to the I2 transport network are to be determined. Contact James Sterbenz for status updates.

The Ciena switches are scheduled for acquisition over the three year period of performance (spiral-1 plus 2 option years). The initial switch to be purchased in spiral-1 is the Ciena Core Director located at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).
