Regarding: "Task 4: Data plane integration with ProtoGENI. Be able to run experiments that share packets between ProtoGENI central (for our purposes, the main Emulab cluster) and the wireless testbeds. Use Internet2 VLAN support to get packets from Emulab to our protoGENI control node (if feasible). Use IP-in-IP tunneling to get packets from the CMU control node to HomeNet? nodes (these nodes, being residential, will not have access to Internet2 VLANs). Note this is ONLY the data-plane tunneling mechanisms, NOT the control mechanisms needed to establish it." Currently this is possible using OpenVPN connections using our local OpenVPN server to create a shared plane between wireless testbeds and other testbeds. We have had one experiment using this mechanism. Right now it is set up manually, which I believe fulfills the ticket requirements - I am currently implementing control mechanisms needed to establish this automatically. |

| Description |
ProtoGENI will install and support an additional ProtoGENI node in I2 before October 2009, bringing the total to 3. Also modify ship date to be 7/15 instead of 7/1. Final installation date will depend on scheduling with I2, but ProtoGENI nodes should be ready to pack for I2 by 7/15, so that will be the due date for this milestone. Will update date again when I2 confirms an installation date. Contract-visible milestone change approved by Henry Yeh on April 14, 2009. |
