Description
The current deployment of InstaGENI sites includes the following FOAM and Compute aggregate names:
Utah: https://foam.utah.geniracks.net and https://utah.geniracks.net GPO: https://foam.instageni.gpolab.bbn.com and https://instageni.gpolab.bbn.com Northwestern:https://foam.instageni.northwestern.edu and https://instageni.northwestern.edu Kentucky: https://foam.lan.sdn.uky.edu:3626/foam/gapi/1 and http://lan.sdn.uky.edu/protogeni/xmlrpc/am/2.0
There does not seem to be a convention for naming the sites. In the page http://www.protogeni.net/wiki/RackSetupQuestions there is a suggestion "Domain for your rack. Something like instageni.foo.bar.edu."
Should we give a stronger indication than the current instructions, so that we may more strongly encourage the use of this naming convention?

Another InstaGENI site (Kettering) has been introduced with another naming approach:
Site Aggregate name Utah utah.geniracks.net GPO instageni.gpolab.bbn.com Northwestern instageni.northwestern.edu Kentucky lan.sdn.uky.edu GATech instageni.rnoc.gatech.edu Kettering geni.kettering.edu

GATech | instageni.rnoc.gatech.edu |
GPO | instageni.gpolab.bbn.com |
Kansas | instageni.ku.gpeni.net |
Kentucky | lan.sdn.uky.edu |
Kettering | geni.kettering.edu |
NYU | genirack.nyu.edu |
Northwestern | instageni.northwestern.edu |
Princeton | instageni.cs.princeton.edu |
Utah | utah.geniracks.net |
FOAM aggregate names consistently add "foam." in front of the aggregate name.
Most aggregate names (compute & foam) include "instageni" as part of their name, while some (Utah, UKY) do not. Here are the current names:
Not sure what are the planned upcoming site names and whether they will include "instageni" in their aggregate name.
