[[PageOutline(2, Table of Contents)]] = Welcome to the GENI Wiki = This is the GENI working group wiki. It is intended to be a living repository for information relating to the GENI design and GPO-led Design Process. The structure, governance, and charters for GENI working groups can be found [http://www.geni.net/wg/wg.html here]. == GENI Announcements == __Risk Reduction & Prototyping Solicitation !#1__:: The GENI Project Office periodically solicits proposals for design and development. The first solicitation was issued on December 17, 2007. Large proposals are due February 15, 2008. More information can be found at the [http://www.geni.net/GS01/GS01.html GENI Project Office site]. __IPR Policy__:: The GENI Project Office Intellectual Property rules for technologies developed for GENI may be found [http://www.geni.net/office/office_IP.html here]. __GEC!#2__:: The second GENI Engineering Conference will be held from 9AM on Monday, March 3, 2008 through 4PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, Virginia. There will also be a special newcomer's session on Sunday March 2 at 6pm. We'll post more information at http://www.geni.net/GEC2/GEC2.html as it becomes available. '''Meeting materials are available [wiki:Gec2 here].''' __Open Positions__:: The GPO has immediate openings for 3 system engineers with expertise in embedded systems, distributed systems, and network management, integration, operations, and security. GPO system engineers play a key role in GENI development -- synthesizing a comprehensive design from working group contributions, defining subsystem requirements, assessing technical risk, evaluating candidate technologies, and overseeing prototyping efforts. Further, they will each have a leadership role in GENI working groups conveying GPO priorities and collecting technical guidance from the community. Candidates with exceptional technical and communication skills are invited to apply. Details can be found at http://www.geni.net/job.html. == Working Group Pages == Each GENI working group has it's own wiki home page. * [GeniControl Facility Control Framework WG] (formerly narrow-waist) * [GeniServices GENI Experiment Workflow and Services WG] * [GeniSubstrate Substrate WG] * [GeniOmis Operations, Management, Integration and Security WG] * [GeniOptIn End-User Opt-In WG] == Documents == GENI working groups develop and publish documents. Unless otherwise noted, these documents represent the consensus of the publishing working group. Working drafts can be found on the individual working group wiki pages. Pre-working group design documents (from 2005-2007) can be found [http://www.geni.net/documents.html here]. == Useful Links == * [GeniNewcomers New to GENI?] * [GeniGlossary GENI Glossary] * [http://www.geni.net/office/office.html GENI Project Office] == Mailing Lists == [http://lists.geni.net/mailman/listinfo/geni-announce GENI Announce] is a moderated list carrying important announcements about upcoming meetings, solicitations, and other useful information for the developer community. [http://lists.geni.net/mailman/listinfo/discuss GENI Discuss] is an open list for general community discussion. See working group pages for information on working group mailing lists. ---- == GENI Wiki Information == '''Getting Started:''' See [GeniWikiGettingStarted Getting Started] for information on how to post and site-wide conventions. '''Admin:''' Need help? [mailto:geni-ops@geni.net Contact Operations] '''Wiki Docs:''' GENI is using the TRAC wiki and issue tracking software package. For help with the Trac software, including pages that explain how to format wiki text and create new pages, TracGuide is a good place to start. Not all the TRAC features are currently in use for GENI (for example there are no tickets), but we expect GENI will eventually use them all. Please contact [mailto:geni-ops@geni.net Operations] for help, changes, or problems with this site. '''Permissions:''' You must log in to the project wiki before you can edit any page. See [GeniWikiGettingStarted Getting Started] for how to get a login. The admins can make pages read-only, editable by only them; any non-read-only page is editable by any logged-in user. All GENI working groups share a single wiki. (If it becomes a problem we may go to something with richer control.) '''Index:''' For a complete list of local wiki pages, see TitleIndex.
