+Both ODU and IDU are, as are most other telecom systems, powered by the -48VDC power source. There are two possible configurations:

+ * Single unit -48 VDC power supply that is powering both ODU and IDU
+ * Two independent -48 VDC power supplies one for each of the units
+
+The second solution has an advantage in deployments for which 110V AC circuit is already available at the chosen outdoor installation location.
