== II. Description of work performed during last quarter ==

This last quarter, the Airspan base station was installed on the Computer Science building and is live on the air.  Range testing has been completed and we get approximately one mile of coverage in the greater Madison area.  With the addition of hte second base station on the CS building, experimenters have access to hand-off experimentation.

In addition to the Airspan base station installation, we have the Internet2 vlan link to Rutgers University.  The connection was completed using a OmniPOP connection out of Chicago to the I2 ION circuit.  This link will remain active for two years until we need to renew the reservation.

The NEC WiMAX base station software has been updated to send configuration information and client information to Rutgers University.  This provides our information to the centralized WiMAX web page fronend requested by Clearwire.

The spring semester of 2013 contained a hands on approach to GENI WiMAX.  A large undergraduate class, CS 404, had to conduct several WiMAX experiments as part of an assignment using our WiMAX testbed.  This taught the students about how to request an account, setup the account, scheduling time, and how to execute the experiment.  Upon completion, they received their results via the result service and analyzed their results compared to other wireless systems.

=== E. Collaborations ===
 * Collaborations are ongoing with two local bus operators:
    i. Madison Metro Transit --- which operates city transit services in and around Madison, WI; and,
    i. Van Galder Bus --- which operates buses on various long distance routes between Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Minneapolis.

Both these partners are using our WiMAX and in-vehicle node deployment to provide Internet services to their vehicles and passengers with great success and evaluating them for larger scale deployments.
