This proposal will install and maintain a programmable WiMax base station at one of the existing University of Colorado Wide-Area Radio Testbed (WART) wireless network sites. It will use a “GENI WiMax Base Station Kit” provided by Rutgers.

Current Capabilities

  • Base Station is installed at 40.007422,-105.263173 with 120-degree sector pointed towards true-North.
  • As of 6/17/2011, PHY-layer is operational and transmitting, putting 40 dBm into the antenna cable. Demodulation achieved with an Anritsu Spectrum analyzer both at the base of the antenna (CINR =~ 45 dB) and 100m distant in the main lobe (CINR =~ 43 dB).
