=== A. Activities and findings ===
We have spoken to a number of organizations within and outside the University (see also Outreach Activities). Among them is UB CIT who shared information with us about the fiber layout in UB and Buffalo area. It was found that the base infrastructure required for the testbed was already in place, ready to be utilized. It was also concluded that implementation of a WDM-PON would be ideal for the testbed because of its capability to support virtual PONs and to support end-to-end slice isolation.

We have contacted the following research centers at UB, encompassing wide areas of research and they exhibited interest in participating in this project (as a site for an ONU and as a potential opt-in user) . They include:
  * Center for Computational Research (CCR)
  * Structural Engineering and Earthquake Simulation Laboratory (SEESL)
  * New York State Center for Engineering Design and Industrial Innovation (NYSCEDII)


We have also spoken to a number of companies about possible collaboration and they include:
  * NEC Labs of America
  * Huawei USA
  * Fujitsu Labs of America
  * Nokia Siemens Networks
