The GENI OpenFlow-controlled network core is a Layer 2 network which can be used for non-IP experiments. OpenFlow allows an experimenter to reserve a sliver of non-IP traffic by specifying a non-IP ethernet type in the OpenFlow reservation. To avoid traffic conflicts, each experimental ethernet type can be used by only one experiment at a time.

Here is a reservation list for ethernet types, in the range of 0x2710 - 0x27D8.

The ethernet types aren't provided by an aggregate, and thus can't be reserved via the GENI AM API. To reserve one for your experiment, contact, and let us know when you'd like to start using the subnet (if not "immediately"), and when you expect to be done with it (if you're not sure, give us a date after which we should check back with you to see if you're done).

Please DO NOT use an Ethernet Type that you haven't reserved. Thanks!
