NetworkCore/EthertypeReservations
v4 v5 1 1 [[PageOutline]] 2 3 The [wiki:NetworkCore GENI OpenFlow-controlled network core] is a Layer 2 network. In order for experimenters to be able to run other protocols than IP, they will need to start assigning different ethernet types to their protocols. 2 The [wiki:NetworkCore GENI OpenFlow-controlled network core] is a Layer 2 network which can be used for non-IP experiments. OpenFlow allows an experimenter to reserve a sliver of non-IP traffic by specifying a non-IP ethernet type in the !OpenFlow reservation. To avoid traffic conflicts, each experimental ethernet type can be used by only one experiment at a time. 4 3 5 4 Here is a reservation list for ethernet types, in the range of 0x2710 - 0x2774.
