[[BR]] 46 47 The iGENI infrastructure will be defined in collaboration with the GPO and other GENI projects to expand the controllable transport services available to GENI researchers, and make GENI available to more research communities. [[BR]] 50 This project will integrate the Lone-star Education And Research Network (LEARN) regional optical network, located in Texas, into the ORCA control framework (GENI Cluster D). This will enable GENI researchers to utilize the LEARN network for L2 (VLAN) transport. [[BR]] 48 51 49 The iGENI infrastructure will connect existing resources with iCAIR involvement (e.g. StarLight) with current GENI backbone transport resources (e.g., Internet2 and NLR layer 2/Ethernet VLANs); current and planned GENI regional transport resources (e.g., BEN, CENIC, and others ); and additional available connections to other research networks (e.g. FIRE). [[BR]] 50 51 The iGENI infrastructure will be integrated as an aggregate with the ORCA control framework in Cluster D. Through ORCA, available resources in iGENI will be discovered; services will be setup and managed; and individual traffic streams will be controlled and managed. This project will implement interfaces to ORCA that allow dynamic control of network services involving iGENI, associated transport resources and and GENI aggregates. It will be possible to setup services using prepackaged or customized configurations and topologies. [[BR]] 52 This project will also work with the Embedded Real-time Measurements (ERM) project to develop methods to include the use of existing commercial transport and measurement equipment for real-time measurements. Specifically, it will work with the ERM project to define the API and implement Measurement Handler software to utilize an existing interface (TL1 over SSH) into the Infinera Digital Transport Node (DTN) to make optical measurements. 53 [[BR]] 52 54 53 55 … … 60 62 61 63 62 [[MilestoneDate(IGENI: S2.a Define the iGENI infrastucture)]] 64 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.a Cluster plan for VLANs between testbeds)]] 65 [[BR]] 66 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.a Plan for VLANs on LEARN)]] 67 [[BR]][[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.c Establish ORCA framework)]] 63 68 [[BR]] 64 [[MilestoneDate(IGENI: S2.b Cluster plan for VLANs between testbeds)]] 65 [[BR]] 66 [[MilestoneDate(IGENI: S2.c Integrate iGENI with ORCA)]] 69 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.d Initial integration LEARN into ORCA)]] 67 70 [[BR]] 68 [[MilestoneDate( IGENI: S2.d Demo VLAN connections between GENI aggregates)]]71 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.e Move broker to clearinghouse)]] 69 72 [[BR]] 70 [[MilestoneDate( IGENI: S2.e Demo VLAN connections including other research communities)]]73 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.f POC to GENI response team)]] 71 74 [[BR]] 72 [[MilestoneDate( IGENI: S2.f Control of iGENI via ORCA to GENI users)]]75 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.g POC to GENI security team)]] 73 76 [[BR]] 74 [[MilestoneDate( IGENI: S2.g POC to GENI response team)]]77 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.h Draft measurement data file format)]] 75 78 [[BR]] 76 [[MilestoneDate( IGENI: S2.h POC to GENI security team)]]79 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.i Implement and integrate Measurement Handler)]] 77 80 [[BR]] 78 [[MilestoneDate( IGENI: S2.i Contribution to GENI outreach)]]81 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.j Deliver release of Measurement Handler)]] 79 82 [[BR]] 80 [[MilestoneDate(IGENI: S2.j Explore dynamic L1 connections)]] 81 [[BR]] 83 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.k List of measurement handlers for GENI)]] 84 [[BR]] 85 [[MilestoneDate(LEARN: S2.l Contribution to GENI outreach)]] 86 [[BR]] 82 87 83 88 == Project Technical Documents == … … 100 105 === Related Projects === 101 106 102 [http://groups.geni.net/geni/wiki/ViSE ViSE project][[BR]]103 107
