Scope

This project will deploy a OpenFlow Ethernet switches in KanREN and at UMKC and UNL, as well as Ciena CoreDirectors subject to availability of surplus I2 hardware and software from Ciena. This infrastructure will enable direct GENI OpenFlow access in 2 RONs and 3 Midwest states, provide an opportunity to investigate simultaneously running DCN and OpenFlow (using existing GpENI interconnections to MAX), and enable collaboration with GENI rack deployment projects. KanREN-GENI deployments will be fully compliant with GENI software standards for GENI aggregates, as published at GENI Engineering Conferences. The sites will use one or more GENI Aggregate Managers controlling access to the aggregate resources. The sites will also support GENI experimenter access via the ProtoGENI, PlanetLab, and OpenFlow control frameworks. The sites will support shared GENI monitoring and operations procedures and interfaces for the meso-scale infrastructure as published at GENI Engineering Conferences.
