Lead the integration of the Princeton control framework onto the GpENI testbed. 2. Enable backbone connection (Internet2/NLR) supporting end-to-end VLAN connections into the GpENI testbed. 3. Make GpENI infrastructure running Princeton control framework available to external researchers over VLAN connections by the end of year 1. 4. Present GpENI integration and operational status to the various control frameworks selected in Spiral 1 through active participation in GEC meetings and the appropriate working groups == Current Capabilities == == Milestones == MilestoneDate(GpENI: Testbed available for limited external research)BR * 04 Apr 2009 – Million node GENI (Seattle) is deployed on GpENI PlanetLab nodes MilestoneDate(GpENI: Delivery of component manager ICD for Ciena Core Director switch)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: Contribute to GENI outreach) on-going BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.a new geniwrapper)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.b study DCN in GpENI)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.c tools)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.d access)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.e VINI)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.f MAX)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.g deploy DCN in GpENI)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.h 2nd Ciena switch)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.i web-portal)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.j federate)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.k XORP and VINI)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.l DCN GpENI MAX)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.m security)BR MilestoneDate(GpENI: 2.n outreach)BR == Project Technical Documents == Link to GpENI wiki maintained by KU BR == Quarterly Status Reports == [attachment:"GpENI 4Q08 QSR.doc" 4Q08 Status Report]BR [attachment:"GpENI 1Q09 QSR.doc" 1Q09 Status Report]BR [attachment:"Quarterly Reports - GpENI.pdf" 2Q09 Status Report] copy downloaded 07-08-2009BR or Link to Status Reports on GpENI wiki == Spiral 1 Connectivity == The GpENI network is formed from the Great Plains Network which has equipment co-located at an Internet2 POP in Kansas City, MO. The connections between the DWDM equipment, the availability of the 10GBE switch and the connections to the I2 transport network are to be determined. Contact James Sterbenz for status updates. The Ciena switches are scheduled for acquisition over the three year period of performance (spiral-1 plus 2 option years). The initial switch to be purchased in spiral-1 is the Ciena Core Director located at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). == GPO Liaison System Engineer == Christopher Small == Related Projects == none currently listed
