[[PageOutline]] = GENI Network Stitching Sites = ''Last update: 2015-05-21'' The following 27 sites have been tested and are available for GENI Network Stitching experiments via the listed networks: ||'''Site Name''' ||'''Nickname '''||''' AL2S VLANs'''|| || Case Western Reserve University InstaGENI|| crwu-ig || 21 || || CENIC InstaGENI || cenic-ig || 20 || || Clemson University || clemson-ig || 15 || || Georgia Institute of Technology || gatech-ig || 15 || || GPO ExoGENI || gpo-eg || 30 || || GPO InstaGENI || gpo-ig || 30 || || Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX) InstaGENI || max-ig || 60 || || Naval Postgraduate School InstaGENI || nps-ig || 15 || || NYSERNet InstaGENI || nysernet-ig || 20 || || Rutgers University InstaGENI || rutgers-ig || 21 || || Southern Crossroads InstaGENI || sox-ig || 15 || || Stanford InstaGENI || stanford-ig || 15 || || University of California Los Angeles InstaGENI|| ucla-ig || 20 || || University of Chicago InstaGENI || chicago-ig || 20 || || University of Illinois InstaGENI || illinois-ig || 20 || || University of Kansas InstaGENI || kansas-ig || 20 || || University of Kentucky InstaGENI ||uky-ig || 20 || || University of Kentucky ProtoGENI ||uky-pg || 10 || || University of Kentucky PKS2 InstaGENI ||ukypks2-ig || 20 || || University of Missouri InstaGENI ||missouri-ig || 15 || || University of Missouri Kansas City InstaGENI||umkc-ig || 15 || || University of Tennesse Chattanooga || utc-ig || 15 || || University of Utah Downtown Data Center InstaGENI ||utahddc-ig|| 1400 || || University of Utah InstaGENI ||utah-ig || 1400 || || University of Utah ProtoGENI ||utah-pg || 1400 || || University of Washington ||uwashington-ig || 15 || || University of Wisconsin InstaGENI ||wisconsin-ig || 15 || GENI Network stitching is possible between all of the above InstaGENI and ExoGENI sites. Example GENI stitching RSpecs are available [http://groups.geni.net/geni/browser/trunk/stitch-examples here]. For an example experiment that uses GENI Network Stitching, see this [wiki:GENIExperimenter/ExperimentExample-stitching GENI Network Stitching Example] page. To determine resource availability, refer to the [wiki:ExpGraphs InstaGENI Site Usage] page. VLANs delegated to GENI stitching are tracked by ID [https://wiki.maxgigapop.net/twiki/bin/view/GENI/StaticNetworksView here.] You may use any of the sample Stitching RSpecs referenced by this page. To modify an RSpec example to use a different site, simply do the following: 1. In the node definition, replace the URN for the ''component_manager_id'' with the URN for your site. 2. In the link definition, replace the ''name'' of the component_manager with the URN for your site. 3. Modify all instances of the ''client_id'' and ''source_id'' or ''dest_id'' to be descriptive for your site. __Stitching Notes__: - All existing compute resource types (raw-pc, VMs) are supported in stitched slivers. - Testing has verified most combinations for the sites listed. There is only one combination that does not work at this time: GPO ExoGENI to PG UKY. - To run stitching scenarios without the ExoSM for the GPO ExoGENI rack, use the stitcher option ''--noExoSM''. If this option is not specified, than the request is submitted to the ExoSM aggregate. - Stitching RSpecs that include ''raw-pc'' sliver types must specify a capacity. - If any part of a sliver creation fails, the stitcher will delete the stitched sliver at each aggregate. - If you interrupt the stitcher sliver creation with GCF 2.8 or later, the stitcher will attempt to delete all slivers, but if you are using GCF 2.7 or earlier you must delete the sliver at each of the aggregates listed by the stitcher as part of the stitched path, and re-create the entire slice. __Additional Stitching Topologies__ Complex and large topologies have been tested. A few RSpecs are provided here as examples that can be referenced and modified to be used at other sites: ||''' Topology Description''' ||''' Sites in topology ''' || RSpec || || Three nodes linear || GPO IG <-> Utah PG <-> Utah IG || [http://groups.geni.net/geni/browser/trunk/stitch-examples/stitch-3linear.rspec stitch-3linear.rspec]|| || Triangle topology || Utah PG<->UKY PG<-> GPO IG <-> Utah PG || [http://groups.geni.net/geni/browser/trunk/stitch-examples/stitch-triangle.rspec stitch-triangle.rspec]|| || Star topology ||Center=UtahDDC IG; Outer=UKY PG, Utah PG, Utah IG, GPO IG || [http://groups.geni.net/geni/browser/trunk/stitch-examples/stitch-star-ddc.rspec stitch-star-ddc.rspec]|| Is you are interested in setting up a GENI Stitching connection to a fixed endpoint, see the [wiki:GeniNetworkStitchingSites/GENIFixeEndpoint Fixed End Point Topology Using GENI Stitching] page. == !OpenFlow over GENI Network Stitching == InstaGENI racks that support GENI Network Stitching also support running hardware !OpenFlow experiments over their stitched GENI network connections with the following restrictions: - Network stitching on the InstaGENI rack allocates and enforces link bandwidth, which cannot be modified by !OpenFlow. - VLANs allocated to stitched connections on the rack cannot be modified, because InstaGENI rack switches operate in hybrid mode, preventing VLAN tag rewriting. If you require some other type of dataplane connections for your !OpenFlow experiment, please contact [mailto:geni-users@googlegroups.com]. == GENI Stitching AL2S Path Mappings == Following is the list of GENI Stitching Site resources within AL2S as of 2015-06-10: ||''' Router''' ||''' Interface''' ||''' Site ''' ||''' VLAN Range''' || || alba.net.internet2.edu || xe-5/2/2.0 || uvm-ig || 1085 || || ashb.net.internet2.edu || et-3/0/0.0 || vt-ig || 4001-4015 || || atla.net.internet2.edu || eth1/1 || clemson-og || 3000-3009 || || loui.net.internet2.edu || et-4/3/0.0 || uky-ig || 1810-1829 || || loui.net.internet2.edu || et-4/3/0.0 || uky-pg || 850-859,1800-1809 || || loui.net.internet2.edu || et-4/3/0.0 || ukypks2-ig || 1830-1849 || || atla.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || clemson-ig || 3560-3574 || || atla.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || gatech-ig || 3520-3534 || || atla.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || sox-ig || 3540-3554 || || atla.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || utc-ig || 3500-3514 || || chic.net.internet2.edu || eth1/2 || iu-crest || 2396-2399 || || clev.net.internet2.edu || eth3/2 || cwru-ig || 650-670 || || clev.net.internet2.edu || eth3/2 || wsu-eg || 1831-1840 || || colu4.net.internet2.edu || eth1/2 || missouri-ig || 1150-1165 || || houh.net.internet2.edu || eth7/1 || tamu-eg || 940-949,3230-3239 || || kans.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || kansas-ig || 1170-1189 || || kans.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || umkc-ig || 1730-1744 || || losa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || cenic-ig || 1550-1569 || || losa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || nps-ig || 1680-1694 || || losa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || ucla-ig || 1610-1629 || || losa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || usc || 3224 || || newy32aoa.net.internet2.edu || eth1/1 || iminds || 1125-1164 || || sw.phil.net.internet2.edu || et-3/0/0.0 || rutgers-ig || 3730-3750 || || newy32aoa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || gpo-eg || 3741,3736-3739 || || newy32aoa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || gpo-ig || 3596-3600,3706-3732,3746-3749 || || newy32aoa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || gpo-og || 2611-2630 || || newy32aoa.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || host-gpolab || 2646 || || newy32aoa.net.internet2.edu || eth7/2 || nysernet-ig || 1700-1719 || || rale.net.internet2.edu || xe-8/0/0.0 || ncsu2-eg || 1761-1764 || || salt.net.internet2.edu || eth7/1 || utah-stitch || 2100-3499 || || seat.net.internet2.edu || et-1/3/0.0 || uwashington-ig || 2301-2315 || || star.net.internet2.edu || eth7/1 || uchicago-ig || 3075-3094 || || star.net.internet2.edu || eth7/1 || wisc-clab || 905-924 || || star.net.internet2.edu || eth7/1 || wisconsin-ig || 930-944 || || star.net.internet2.edu || eth7/2 || illinois-ig || 1760-1779 || || sunn.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || stanford-ig || 1630-1644 || || sunn.net.internet2.edu || eth5/1 || ucdavis-eg || 1650-1669 || || wash.net.internet2.edu || eth1/2 || wix || 1700-1729 || || wash.net.internet2.edu || eth3/2 || max || 3020-3049 || || wash.net.internet2.edu || eth7/2 || gwu-geni-cinema || 724 || Additional GENI Stitching paths not associated with sites, but are stitching endpoints: ||''' Router''' ||''' Interface''' ||''' VLAN Range''' || || chic.net.internet2.edu || eth5/2 || -1,1-4089 || || jack.net.internet2.edu || eth1/2 || 2710-2719 || || sunn.net.internet2.edu || eth3/2 || -1,1-4089 || ----- If additional help is needed, please contact [mailto:help@geni.net]. -----
