InstaGENI Aggregate

University of Utah Downtown Data Center InstaGENI OpenFlow

This InstaGENI aggregate supports the GENI Aggregate Provider Agreement (08/13/2013).

InstaGENI Aggregate Overview

Color( #FF8C10, #ffffff , This rack is used for early development and integration of new GENI features. Scheduled maintenance and upgrades are likely to be more frequent here than at other racks.)?

Aggregate Manager URL FOAM: https://foam.utahddc.geniracks.net:3626/foam/gapi/1
Aggregate Resources An InstaGENI aggregate includes 33 Hosts (12 VM Servers and 21 dedicated PCs) that can load experimenter specified OS images. Racks also support OpenFlow topologies, usually including extensions onto campus OpenFlow networks.
Typical Experiments InstaGENI provides a controllable, predictable, and repeatable network environment. Experimenters can get virtual machines or dedicated PCs on which they have full "root" access, run available operating systems of their choice, and connect nodes in an arbitrary topology that can support OpenFlow.
Aggregate Status Operational monitoring not widely available, restricted access to monitoring at GMOC
Slice Authorities Recognized GENI Portal (https://portal.geni.net), ProtoGENI (http://www.emulab.net)
Usage Policies A GENI Recommended Use Policy is available. Site should also add links here to their own usage policies.
Layer 2 Connectivity Access to Internet2 GENI OpenFlow Core Network via Utah Education Network (UEN), for details see the Utah UEN OpenFlow Aggregate page.
