GENI: Fall 2013 Train the TA Sessions

Dates and Times

Session 1: Friday September 13, 2013 from 2pm to 5pm ET
Session 2: Friday September 20, 2013 from 2pm to 5pm ET

Web Conferencing Information

Session 2 - Friday September 20

  1. Go to https://bbn.webex.com/bbn/j.php?ED=190090302&UID=1357572122&PW=NZDlkOTc5Njhj&RT=MiMxMQ%3D%3D
  2. If requested, enter your name and email address.
  3. If a password is required, enter the meeting password: Fall13TA
  4. Click "Join".

For audio, WebEx will give you a phone number to call after you log into the meeting.

Pre-Work

  1. Verify ability to login to the GENI Portal.
  1. Download and install a VM from http://www.planet-lab.org/GENI/.

The PATH variable is not set correctly in the .bashrc distributed with the VM. After you log into the VM, you will need to run the following commands to download and install a new .bashrc:

rm .bashrc
wget www.gpolab.bbn.com/experiment-support/tmp/.bashrc
source .bashrc

You should be able to cut and paste the above commands into a terminal window in your VM.

  • you will get a warning when you run sudo just ignore it:
    sudo: unable to resolve host NodeB
