GENIExperimenter/GENIWebinars/ProgrammingTheNetworkDataPlaneInP4
v5 v6 25 25 In this talk, I will first give a quick overview of PISA and explain why it is inevitable; within the next couple of years I expect all switching chips to be programmable, with no performance, power or cost penalty. I will then give a brief primer on the P4 language, showing some example programs for a variety of different networks, demonstrating the power of writing portable and reusable P4 programs. Finally I will introduce a few exciting use cases that data-plane programmability can enable, along with new challenges and problems warranting further study. 26 26 27 {{{ 28 #!comment 27 29 28 === Connection Information === 30 29 Use the following URL to connect from PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android:[[BR]] … … 39 38 40 39 ''Please join the meeting a few minutes before the start time.'' 41 }}}42 40 43 41 === Equipment Needed === … … 59 57 60 58 [wiki:GENIExperimenter/Tutorials/jacks/GettingStarted_PartI/Procedure This tutorial] will help you complete items 3 and 4 above, and is strongly recommended if you have never used GENI before, or have not used GENI for a while. 59 60 [attachment:GettingStartedWithGENI-Lib.pdf (pdf)] 61 61 }}} 62 {{{ 63 #!comment 62 64 63 === Agenda === 65 64 * Welcome - Ben Newton 66 * Presentation - Nick Bastin - [attachment:GettingStartedWithGENI-Lib.pdf (pdf)] 67 * Demo - Nick Bastin 68 * geni-lib docs: http://geni-lib.readthedocs.io 65 * Presentation and Demo - Changhoon Kim 69 66 * Questions 70 67 * Wrap-up - Ben Newton 71 }}} 68 72 69 {{{ 73 70 #!comment
