STEPS FOR SETTING UP
Since this experiment requires to use monitoring tools to monitor the behavior of the network, we use GENI Desktop to enable GEMINI monitoring in our experiment.
If you are not familiar with GEMINI or GENI Desktop, here is a very good tutorial: http://groups.geni.net/geni/wiki/GEC16Agenda/InstaGENI
Create an Experimental Topology for Sharing Precipitation data using CCN network
- 1. Download the RSpec from http://www.gpolab.bbn.com/experiment-support/CCNExampleExperiment/ccn-precip-pc.rspec (or http://www.gpolab.bbn.com/experiment-support/CCNExampleExperiment/ccn-precip-pc-gemini.rspec for and RSpec with GEMINI extensions).
- 2. Follow the tutorial on GENIDesktop Tutorial to create the topology using ccn-precip-pc.rspec through GENIDesktop on Flack, with GEMINI extension enabled
Note: When import the rspec file, Flack interface will ask you which AM to use. Here we use utahemulab.
- 3. Log onto the reserved nodes following instructions here: LoginToNodes
Done.
After you created and *renewed* the topology from the Flack interface, you will see a topology like the following with green back ground (which means the resources are up and ready):
Note the GEMINI monitoring node
GNutahemulabcm0
.
Next: Run Experiment
