334 | | ORCA and BEN demonstrated a distributed network management capability in a shared environment between universities that can ensure the operational success of experimenting at-scale using GENI enabled infrastructure for robust, comprehensive and distributed substrate monitoring and management. Their demo focussed on how to use and stop a slice in a coordinated and efficient fashion. This included a researcher, university and a network provider collaborating together. |

| 333 | The ORCA-BEN project in collaboration with ViSE and iGENI projects demonstrated the creation of a national-scale multi-institutional experiment slice by creating and linking on-demand virtual machines on the campus of Duke University to a sensor testbed in Massachusetts (UMass Amherst). The connection consisted of separate dynamically provisioned Layer 2 VLAN segments in BEN ([https://ben.renci.org Breakable Experimental Network]) and NLR !FrameNet (using Sherpa) with a VLAN that was statically provisioned between UMass and the !StarLight facility in Chicago. ORCA experiment controller instantiated the necessary resources and interconnected them together. |
