Description

This tutorial will introduce OpenFlow and guide experimenters through the writing of simple OpenFlow controllers to showcase some of the OpenFlow capabilities. This tutorial will consist of two parts: an introduction to OpenFlow (1.0 and 1.3) and OpenFlow resources in GENI and a hands-on portion.

In the hands-on portion, attendees will use the OpenFlow framework, POX, to write controllers to control their OpenFlow switch. Experimenters will be able to use an OpenFlow software switch, Open vSwitch (OVS), and/or use an OpenFlow-capable hardware switch.
