[[PageOutline]] = WiMAX Tutorial at GEC15 = == Schedule == Thursday, October 25 [[BR]] 8:30 am - 11:00 am [[BR]] Room: [[BR]] Active participants: max 8x3 = 24 [[BR]] Auditors: Anyone is welcome to attend, even if you haven't registered! [[BR]] == Session Leaders == Fraida Fund, Thanasis Korakis (Polytechnic Institute of NYU) [[BR]] Manu Gosain (Raytheon BBN Technologies) [[BR]] Ivan Seskar (Rutgers Univ WINLAB) [[BR]] == Abstract == In this tutorial, participants will gain hands-on experience with step-by-step guidance in designing and conducting an experiment utilizing GENI wireless infrastructure. Participants will work in small groups to learn how to reserve resources, configure a GENI WiMAX base station, and develop and execute an OMF experiment using WiMAX-equipped clients, all within the context of a non-trivial experiment from a major area of computer science or networking research. The material in this tutorial has been updated and supplemented in preparation for GEC15, so participants in past GENI WiMAX Tutorials will still find plenty of new information. == Prerequisites == * Attendees may benefit from familiarizing themselves with the GENI WiMAX testbeds by making an account at a GENI WiMAX site and running the preliminary experiments [http://witestlab.poly.edu/index.php/tutorial.html link]. * Active participants will need a laptop equipped with an SSH client (such as [http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/ Putty] for Windows) and a web browser.
