Tutorial: Advanced GENI Topologies using Omni
Schedule
Wednesday, 1:00pm - 2:30pm
Session Leaders
Niky Riga, Tim Upthegrove, Vic Thomas and Sarah Edwards, GENI Project Office
Agenda / Details
The purpose of this tutorial is to discuss how you can design different topologies in GENI. We are going to use the GENI multi-campus, layer 2 backbone network. For this tutorial we are going to use the Omni client which is a command line tool for reserving resources across control frameworks.
The tutorial instructions can be found TBA?.
Prerequisites
A basic understanding of GENI concepts (will be covered in the TBA). To attend this tutorial you should be familiar with the Omni client. If you are not already familiar with this tool you should attend the Intro to Omni Tutorial that is given on Tuesday from 3-5pm. Although not a requirement, it is recommended that attendees are already familiar with PlanetLab, ProtoGENI and OpenFlow aggregates.
Please Arrive With:
Laptop with a recent version of Virtual Box. If you are unable to bring one, you may partner with someone else.
Results
After completing this tutorial, you will have a working GENI slice that will include resources from different aggregates and you will know how to design and deploy a multi-aggregate experiment in GENI.
Although your account is temporary, it is a real GENI account that you can use to run experiments in GENI until it's deactivated. If you would like to get a permanent account, please contact us at help@geni.net.
