Packet-level Measurement Systems for GENI

Wed, 1300-1430

Organizer: Paul Barford, Univ. Wisconsin

Detail: GIMS is a unique and powerful packet-level measurement capability for GENI that has been developed over the last three years in a collaborative effort between Boston University, Colgate University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The systems that have been developed enable researchers to specify capture on GENI links where our customized instrumentation has been deployed, and to collect and archive packet-level measurement in a scalable and efficient fashion. The objective of this 90 minute tutorial is to provide an overview of the packet capture systems, their implementation in the ProtoGENI framework and a hands-on introduction to their use in GENI experiments.
