Workshop on Attribution in GENI
Organizers
Matt Bishop, UC Davis
Time
Thu 9:00 - 10:30 am
Description
This workshop will bring together people interested in the topic of attribution in GENI. Attribution, as defined by the organizers of this workshop, is the binding of data (called a characteristic) with an entity (person, process, file, other data, etc). The goal of attribution is to show that the characteristic associated with an entity has a particular value, or one of a particular set of values. The purpose for using attribution is often to provide accountability—in a cyber-security context attribution is generally used to determine who is initiating an attack and therefore assumed to be good and desirable.
