How to pick which InstaGENI Rack to use
Three useful criteria for picking an InstaGENI rack:
- Physical location of the node. You can get the coordinates of a rack from its advertisement RSpec.
- Stitching support. Racks that can be stitched are annotated in the table below
- Load for the node type you are interested in using. In the table below, each cell shows the load on a VM server (or for all raw PCs on a given rack) over the last hour. VM servers listed in the first two columns are configured to run Xen virtual machines and VM servers in the third column show OpenVZ containers. The four column shows Raw PCs. Higher numbers indicate a heavier load. The fifth column shows Publicly Routable IP Addresses; here higher number indicate a lighter load.
