Project Title
Data Plane Measurements
a.k.a. D Meas, DMEAS
Technical Contacts
Principal Investigator: Deniz Gurkan dgurkan@Central.UH.EDU
SR Personnel: Paul Roberts gproberts@uh.edu
Student Developer: Roopa Krishnappa
Participating Organizations
University of Houston, College of Technology
Scope
Spiral-1 of GENI will be composed of a diverse set of substrate technologies including national scale fiber optic backbones, regional optical networks, programmable core switches and edge compute resources, campus networks, metropolitan wireless and mobile networks and sensor networks. This diverse range of technology will offer varying degrees of programmability enabling a wide range of research.
Working with the GPO, we will assess the embedded measurement capabilities as well as methods to integrate external test equipment for the specific substrate resources offered in spiral-
- We will document and publish our findings to appropriate GENI mailing lists, WIKI's and at
one of the upcoming GEC's.
Milestones
D Meas: Review all substrate technologies in spiral-1
D Meas: Document embedded measurement capabilities
D Meas: Identify external measurement equipment
D Meas: Describe the network connections
