Updated demo description: TransCloud is a persistent Cloud infrastructure over multiple sites and continents, tied to the PlanetLab Control Framework. We demonstrate the ability of the infrastructure to perform (1) dynamic node provisioning to support multiple types of client jobs and (2) dynamic site discovery and allocation. We will also use our client jobs to demonstrate the ability to execute transcontinental computation (i.e., aggregating data over multiple continents), and the ability to run a mixed private/public network cloud within the infrastructure.
