Ivan, can you send along more info about where things stand with purchasing OpenFlow hardware at Rutgers for Spiral 2? Have you ordered everything that you're planning to buy at this point? Any plans to buy anything else later this year? Let us know if it's not clear what we're looking for here, or if you have any other questions. Thanks!

We decided to purchase equipment in two phases:

In the first phase, we ordered 5 NEC IP8800 switches for the top ORBIT, WINLAB and CS deployments, 10 Pronto 3240 switches for OF enabling the entire ORBIT grid control plane and are in process of getting 2 HP 6600 and 1 HP 5604 that are to be used for test dorm deployment (6600) and DTN development (5604). Due to the long lead times, last piece of the equipment is expected to arrive in mid May.

In the second phase, we plan to buy 10 Pronto 3290 (they are expected to be available at the end of May) and pending outcome of dorm evaluation either 4 more HP 6600 or 2 more NEC IP8800. We also expect to get a number of NetFPGA platforms that will be used for overlay support. The purchase cycle for phase 2 is expected to be completed by the end of August.
