Digital Object Repository in GENI

Reported by: gmanepalli@cnri.reston.va.us Owned by: NIDHI
Priority: major Milestone: DIGOBREG: S2.a Host a Digital Object Repository service
Component: DIGOBREG Version: SPIRAL2
Keywords: demo, GEC6 Cc:
Dependencies:

Description

The digital object repository (DORepo) provides a unified and consistent interface for managing digital objects that are, and could well be, stored on/using multiple storage systems/services including the Amazon S3 storage service, Subversion service, file systems, etc. Additionally, the unified interface allows filtering digital objects based on the type, relationship, group, etc.

The goal of the demo is to show how the digital object repository allows managing GENI experiment-related assets, which are widely distributed but yet related to one another, in an easy and coherent fashion, while requiring little or no change to the way those assets are written to or read from.

Requirements: (1) Table space to place laptop and projector (2) 1 Box or dock to place laptop (3) 3 AC outlets (4) 1 Poster space (5) 1 Projector (6) 1 Projector screen (7) 2 Static IP addresses (8) Unrestricted outgoing connections (all ports) to the public Internet

The campus network connectivity that Utah is providing includes simple firewall rules. Are there any specific ports you want to be unblocked, in order to fulfill your requirement above?

Thanks, GPO

I understand. Thanks for looking into it.

I'll need a few ports opened up (stated below) to be able to make outgoing connections from the Utah network to two machines with IP addresses 38.100.128.125 and 132.151.9.160.

TCP - 2641, 8000, 8080, 9900, 9901, 9902, 9903, 9904, 9905 UDP - 2641 (outgoing and incoming)

Thanks. Giridhar
