SCS is ignoring link type egre

Reported by: lnevers@bbn.com Owned by: xyang@maxgigapop.net

Component: STITCHING Version: SPIRAL7

Description

The topology UCLA -> AL2S -> ION -> NPS was used with a gre tunnel connecting the UCLA and NPS xen hosts:

    <link_type name="egre-tunnel"/>

The SCS interprets the link as stitched rather 'egre'. Stitcher should try to:

a) only look at SCS workflow for links that it thinks are stitched links b) Ignore any stitching extension path for any links that it thinks are not stitched links

This issues is causing failure for all slivers that include gre tunnels that go across ION and AL2S. ION only topologies work.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

A fix has been made into master and geni-scs-r2.5 branches. The patch has been applied to the Test SCS.

comment:2 Changed 9 years ago by lnevers@bbn.com

The SCS fix for the multi-network gre tunnel was verified at the Test SCS.

This fix should be applied at the I2 SCS, now that AL2S is available to experimenters.

comment:3 Changed 9 years ago by lnevers@bbn.com

This fix for link type egre is still not applied at the Internet2 SCS. Fix has been available ins SCS master and geni-scs-r2.5 branches since Feb 4th.

Re-opening this ticket because this fix never made it to the production SCS and ticket is harder to find because it is closed. Fix is not available to experimenters.

The link_type "egre-tunnel" fix is available at the production SCS. Although it seems that the link type "gre-tunnel" is not supported by the SCS.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
