Description

Demo Title: GENI-Enabled Vehicular Sensing and Control Networking

One-sentence layman's description: This demo is going to show our open-innovation platform and experimentation methodologies for connected and automated vehicles. The latest observations as well as results are also going to share with the broad community.

Who should see this demo? Our demo might be of interest to researchers and experimenters who are working on vehicular sensing and control (VSC) networking, high-fidelity, at-scale emulation, and cutting-edge research by leveraging the GENI resources.

Demo description paragraph(s): In this demo, two vehicles equipped with virtualized vehicular sensing and control (VSC) platforms are collecting real time sensing data while driving around Detroit midtown. Through the WSU GENI WiMAX network and GENI VLAN, the sensed data are send to different users and are used to serve their various experiments, emulations, or real-world applications such as vehicle fuel economy sensing, real-time 3D reconstruction of images. In particular, we will demonstrate that VSC network emulation executes in the ExoGENI racks to show the impact of novel solutions from NSF-funded research such as those on reliable, real-time wireless communication.

List of equipment that will need AC connections (e.g. laptop, switch, monitor): Just put in the number of connections needed if your demo description already lists equipment.

Total number of wired network connections (sum standard IP and VLAN connections): 3 wired network cables. Number of wired layer 2 VLANs (if any): 1 VLAN (#1815

Number of wireless network connections (include required bandwidth if significant): 3 wireless network connections.

Number of static addresses needed (if any): None

Monitor (y/n, specify VGA or DVI): yes. 2 VGA monitors. Specify resolution only if your software has resolution restrictions.

Number of posters (max size poster boards are 30" x 40"): 1 poster Special requests: Include any specific network connectivity needs: None (e.g. VLANs to a particular GENI location, projects you'd like to be near, etc.)
