Demo Title: New Virtual Computer Networks Lab Assignments

One-sentence layman's description:

This demo will introduce two new assignment for using "GENI in the classroom".

Demo description paragraph(s):

In this demo, we will present two new assignments that can be executed on top of GENI testbeds and used as assignments for an undergraduate Computer Networks or Distributed Systems class. The first assignment lets students implement and test a data center load balancer, while the second assignment introduces the basics of multicast.

List of equipment that will need AC connections (e.g. laptop, switch, monitor): 3

Total number of wired network connections (sum standard IP and VLAN connections): 1

Number of wired layer 2 VLANs (if any): 0

Number of wireless network connections (include required bandwidth if significant): 2

Number of static addresses needed (if any): 0

Monitor (y/n, specify VGA or DVI): 1 VGA

One-sentence layman's description: This demo shows assignments that are designed for the use of GENI testbeds in the classroom.

Who should see this demo? Attendees interested in using GENI for education.

Demo description paragraph(s): In this demo we will present assignments that we have created within the scope of our GENI Virtual Computer Networks Lab. These assignments are executed on GENI testbeds and can be used by teachers in their Computer Networks or Distributed Systems classes. In addition to the assignments we will demonstrate LabWiki and how it can be used by students to execute the assignments. We will also demonstrate LabWiki’s features that support teachers in setting up and evaluating assignments.
