#57 fixed WiMAX GEC4 Demo hdempsey@bbn.com Ivan Seskar
Description

We plan to demonstrate basic outdoor operation of the fully deployed WiMAX base station including control of key parameters as well as initial integration into ORBIT Management Framework (OMF). The remote demo on ORBIT will need:

  • table space
  • network connectivity
  • poster easel
  • (optional) large LCD or projector with the screen

#58 fixed Need additional configuration documentation dga@cs.cmu.edu Aaron Falk
Description

According to Dave Andersen (2/3/09) this was completed in January 09. Waiting for additional documentation (links, config files, scripts, etc) to be posted on the CmuLab wiki page.

#59 fixed MANFRED GEC4 demo: initial integration of dynamic circuits into the GENI substrate hdempsey@bbn.com chris@maxgigapop.net
Description

In our demonstration for GEC4, MANFRED will demonstrate initial integration of Cluster B's GENIwrapper (on a private PlanetLab central deployment) with dynamic circuits provisioned using the DRAGON software connecting PlanetLab slivers to each other as well as connecting to non-PlanetLab hosts.

We will demonstrate the capability to schedule/provision a high-speed dedicated circuit (may be between 1-1000Mbps with 1Mbps granularity) which will terminate as a tagged Ethernet 802.1Q VLAN on end hosts either running the PlanetLab MyPLC software or running as a standalone server.

An initial sketch of what this demo will look like (from an application topology perspective) is attached as a PDF. Please note that the exact details may vary slightly -- this diagram is meant to illustrate the overall concept. The actual topology and parameters of the dynamic circuits can vary depending on the requirements.

Our demonstration has the following requirements at the GEC4 venue in Miami:

  • 2 AC outlets for laptops
  • enough table space for two laptops
  • enough board space for our poster - 36" x 48" (portrait orientation)
  • wired Internet connection
  • two static IP addresses
  • projector / projector screen space (for projecting the demo)

If we need to share the projector with another group, a KVM switch would be helpful in transitioning between demos.
