#1440 fixed CVST Demo - University of Toronto peter.stickney@bbn.com ali.tizghadam@utoronto.ca
Description

Demo Title: Connected Vehicles & Smart Transportation (CVST)

University of Toronto Ali Tizghadam, Allberto Leon-Garcia

One-sentence layman's description:

This demo shows a work in progress on constructing an analytics platform for transportation data processing in large cities (in this demo Greater Toronto Area).

Who should see this demo?

Attendees interested in transportation networks industry and big data analysis should see this demo.

Demo description paragraph(s):

We are demonstrating a platform to collect, analyze, and report on various aspects of transportation/communication data. We build a data dissemination layer based on content-centric networking (CCN) with a publish/subscribe overlay layer. Independent publishers of transportation data (including but not limited to mobile data, public transit data, weather information, camera feed, loop-detector data, twitter) can publish their data in the CVST platform and the platform allows for customized subscription through an analytics engine which is built on top of SAVI platform (Smart Applications on Virtual Infrastructure) as a Hadoop instance with vertical/horizontal scaling capability. CVST analytics engine and data dissemination layer are accessible for researchers / start ups / application developers to build their own applications by accessing live/historical data and calling installed algorithmic procedures.

List of equipment that will need AC connections (e.g. laptop, switch, monitor): We need one laptop/desktop with high speed Internet access, a 32" monitor, and a poster board place.

Total number of wired network connections (sum standard IP and VLAN connections): 2 wired connections Number of wired layer 2 VLANs (if any): Specify VLAN number, if known, approximate bandwidth, and whether tagged or untagged.

N/A

Number of wireless network connections (include required bandwidth if significant):

2 wireless network connections are required.

Number of static addresses needed (if any):

N/A

Monitor (y/n, specify VGA or DVI): Yes, VGA

Number of posters (max size poster boards are 30" x 40"):

One poster (size 30"-by-40")

Special requests: Include any specific network connectivity needs (e.g. VLANs to a particular GENI location, projects you'd like to be near, etc.)

Just Internet connectivity is enough.
