Milestone iGENI: S3.b Documentation and Code Release
- Participate in defining a Cluster D plan for naming and stitching L2 connectivity across Clusters C and D.
- Provide plan for configuration by iGENI staff of long-term (or scheduled) connections between current GENI backbone transport resources (e.g., Internet2 and NLR layer 2/Ethernet VLANs); current and planned GENI regional transport resources (e.g., BEN, CENIC, and others ); GENI aggregates; and/or other research networks (e.g. FIRE or JIST).
- Provide plan for configuration and integration by iGENI staff of long-term (or scheduled) links between Cisco switch (equipped with features for VLAN tag mapping an L2 tunnel termination) and current GENI backbone transport resources (e.g., Internet2 and NLR layer 2/Ethernet VLANs); current and planned GENI regional transport resources (e.g., BEN, CENIC, and others); GENI aggregates; and/or other research networks (e.g. FIRE or JIST).
- Setup wiki (at Northwestern, or use GENI wiki) to report current status (requested, scheduled, active, disconnected..) of long term (or scheduled) connections by iGENI staff between GENI transport resources or aggregates, or between aggregates or transport resources and Cisco switch.
- Operate the ORCA instance at Northwestern to control Cisco switch in real-time to provide L2 (VLAN) connections between GENI transport resources or aggregates, via L2 connections or tunnels
