Likewise, I was already in 'enable' mode on procurve1, but had to do 'enable' on procurve2; and I then I had to figure out the username (not admin, operator, or adminstrator, but manager, which worked with the same password).
(Given that it's the same password for access and admin, should the 'operator' account simply be an admin on procurve2? It'd be nice if the two switches worked the same way in this respect, although obviously not essential, especially if they're running different firmware and thus can't. Hypothetically.)

http://www.protogeni.net/wiki/rack-deployment documents how to log in to the switches, so this is all set.
By some amount of poking around and dead reckoning, I figured out that the switch names are procurve1 and procurve2, but that should probably be documented somewhere. (And maybe they should have better names?)
I also found the switch password in boss:/usr/testbed/etc/switch.pswd, and when I telnet-ed to procurve1, I was able to log in with that password... But when I telnet-ed to procurve2, I was prompted for a username. I guessed 'admin' (wrong) and then 'operator' (right), but that should be documented somewhere too.
