ExoGENI Racks Project

The ExoGENI Racks address the GENI Rack Requirements and follow the process below to deliver experimenter resources:

ExoGENI Design

Three ExoGENI Design document versions have been made available:

ExoGENI Design V1.02 document Posted after the design meeting to deliver wordsmithing changes, no design changes were made in this version.
ExoGENI Design V1.01 document Used for the review meeting.
ExoGENI Design V1.0 document Initial version of the ExoGENI design.

In response to the proposed design the following were defined and discussed on the mail list named exogeni-design@geni.net:

  • ExoGENI Use Cases - Eight Use Cases were submitted for discussion in the design review. Post-meeting discussions on the mail list are captured in this page.
  • ExoGENI Open Questions - Questions submitted for the design meeting were not discussed due to time constraints and were addressed in the mail list.

Acceptance Tests

Although GENI Rack Requirements are the same for each of the GENI rack projects, a separate ExoGENI System Acceptance Test Plan is defined based on the ExoGENI Use Cases.

See the ExoGENI Acceptance Test Status page for test status and issues as the ExoGENI Acceptance Tests are executed.

An ExoGENI Preliminary Acceptance Test Report was generated for the ExoGENI Acceptance Tests as of August 15, 2012.

The ExoGENI Final Acceptance Test Report will be made available upon project completion, this page will capture all test findings, configurations used, unresolved issues, etc.

Rack Deployment

As sites are deployed, the GPO works with Campus Engineering and Rack Teams to set up and coordinate testing of campus, control and OpenFlow connections, as well as monitoring for the site. An outline of this activity can be found here.

The ExoGENI New Site Confirmation Tests are defined to validate the introduction of new ExoGENI sites and will be executed for each new GENI Rack.

See the ExoGENI Confirmation Test Status page for overall status of new ExoGENI sites as they are deployed and validated for general use. Upon completion of the site confirmation tests, campus engineering will be able to access and manage resources for their own site.

The Post-GEC13 status report captures the development status post GEC 13.

The ExoGENI Aggregate Surveys is a historical page that captures the initial testing completed while the rack solution was first being implemented. Experiments include the following: a simple 2 node experiment, AM API Acceptance test results and the GPO Development Analysis of the results.
