Description
This session will discuss experiences from researchers that have used GENI as a tool in their research in domain sciences, i.e. in sciences other than computer science.
Agenda
Speakers:
- Bryan Lyles from NSF will start off the session.
- Sam Batzli from University of Wisconsin will talk about his experience using a service running on GENI.
- Anirban Mandal from Renci will talk about his experiences working with domain scientists from different disciplines that usually run their experiments in HPC, to help them deploy their experiments on GENI
- Mike Zink from UMass Amherst will talk about the work that he has been doing with CASA researchers.
- Jim Chen is going to present the experience of the Chameleon and StarLight team with supporting domain scientists
After the presentations, the floor will be open to discussion about how to better support this type of research.
