Description

Demo Title: Connected Vehicles & Smart Transportation (CVST)

University of Toronto Ali Tizghadam, Allberto Leon-Garcia

One-sentence layman's description:

This demo shows a work in progress on constructing an analytics platform for transportation data processing in large cities (in this demo Greater Toronto Area).

Who should see this demo?

Attendees interested in transportation networks industry and big data analysis should see this demo.

Demo description paragraph(s):

We are demonstrating a platform to collect, analyze, and report on various aspects of transportation/communication data. We build a data dissemination layer based on content-centric networking (CCN) with a publish/subscribe overlay layer. Independent publishers of transportation data (including but not limited to mobile data, public transit data, weather information, camera feed, loop-detector data, twitter) can publish their data in the CVST platform and the platform allows for customized subscription through an analytics engine which is built on top of SAVI platform (Smart Applications on Virtual Infrastructure) as a Hadoop instance with vertical/horizontal scaling capability. CVST analytics engine and data dissemination layer are accessible for researchers / start ups / application developers to build their own applications by accessing live/historical data and calling installed algorithmic procedures.

Monitor (y/n, specify VGA or DVI): Yes, VGA

Number of posters (max size poster boards are 30" x 40"):

One poster (size 30"-by-40")

Because your request is late, we've already run out of local AV provided monitors. We can provide networking, power for your laptop and a poster stand. If you would like to ship your own monitor to DC, please let us know ASAP.

Hello,

Regarding monitor issue:

1) Is there a screen where we can project an image from a projector? If the screen is available then using a projector is preferred.

2) In case projector is not doable, then when do you need the monitor? Can we bring it there when we fly to Washington (day of the demo), or you need it earlier?

3) If you need it earlier, what address should we ship monitor to?

Thanks ~AT

Hi Ali,

Sorry for the delayed response.

There is no screen available, unfortunately.

You can bring the monitor on the day of the demo. Please bring it in the morning on 3/24.

Alternatively, you can ship to the GEC hotel and they will accept, as long as you are registered there.

Just to be clear, you will need to pick up the monitor yourself and bring it to the demo area on 3/24 even if you ship it. You will need a car/cab to do this because they are not adjacent. There's a map on the wiki page in the previous comment.

Please ignore the sentence about Ruslan. That was for another demo team. This is for Ali's CVST demo.

Could you please give me a phone number to add to the mailing address? I am trying to pruchase the monitor from bestbuy online and have it shipped to the address you mentioned, but since my credit card is non-US they ask for a phone number in US to contact.

Thank you Ali
