Description

Demo Title: MFTP: MobilityFirst Transport Protocol Implmentation

One-sentence layman's description: MobilityFirst Transport Protocol (MFTP)

Who should see this demo? Network and distributed systems researchers, service providers.

Demo description paragraph(s): We present the design of clean-slate transport layer protocols for the MobilityFirst (MF) future Internet architecture based on the concept of named objects. This protocols include four basic functions needed to constitute a flexible transport protocol for MF: (i) fragmentation and end-to-end re-sequencing; (ii) lightweight end-to-end error recovery with in-network transport proxies; (iii) optional flow and congestion control mechanisms; and (iv) scalable multicast delivery mechanisms. In the demo a prototype of the proposed MFTP protocol is compared with TCP/IP showcasing the performance gains that can be achieved.
